Mendo Mystic Farms
Mendo Mystic is a small family farm above Willits in Mendocino County that has been growing clean outdoor cannabis since 1986. They cultivate using living soil, compost teas, and regenerative practices. Their annual plant count is modest (about 150 plants), and they have been clean-tested (i.e. no contaminants) at least since 2015. They also have California organic certification under the OCal program.
Their farm was built under difficult conditions (raids, regulation, price crashes), and yet the family has persisted. They’ve held onto older ways, tending plants by hand, preserving genetics, maintaining community ties, and sustaining land stewardship.
Mendo Mystic preserves craft cannabis by demonstrating resilience, intentionality, and adherence to quality over scale. Their legacy is not just in age, but in how they continue to grow with care: protecting environment, keeping strains alive, preserving tradition, and making cannabis that speaks of its place.
